METALWORKS is a full-service machine and fabrication shop that offers engineering & design services, both manual and CNC machining, as well as CNC plasma cutting, specialty welding and production services.

DESIGN & ENGINEERING

MetalWorks engineering department can design and layout calculation and design packages for even the most complicated applications. Calculations are explicitly detailed with formulas and procedures clearly identified for all the metal and hardware needed and can include MTR’s where needed. Our engineering resources are among the best in the industry, meeting ASME requirements and achieving the highest degree of design standards.

CNC PLASMA CUTTING

MetalWorks plasma cutting services utilize one of the best tables & software in the industry. Our plasma table is engineered and designed to consistently cut accurate metal parts day in and day out. Our software is intuitive and easy-to-use, allowing us to turn even the crudest of drawings into metal masterpieces. Our fabrication personnel are the best in the business at bringing your ideas to reality.

CNC MACHINE WORKS

MetalWorks has CNC machine works capabilities for your one-off specialty need or for those large production orders needing quick, accurate and efficient fabrication and turnaround. MetalWorks utilizes MasterCam software, the most widely used CAM software in the machining industry. Putting our elite machinists and the Mastercam software together, results in fast and efficient layouts and produces only the best in milling and lathe work. From the simplest of fabrication to highly specialized toolpaths, our personnel, equipment and software have it covered.

Machining Specialist

Meet Chaz Cormier, our machining specialist in our MetalWorks department.  This man can take an idea, plug it into his software program and turn a chunk of metal into whatever you can dream of.  Chaz is a lifelong Montana native. 

Chaz has been with PSI since September 2019, and is our CNC wiz.  He has an Associates Of Applied Science Degree in machining technology and also has over 11 years of manual and CNC machining experience and has worked on various types of parts from mining to hydraulics and even the automotive industry.  With a knowledge and experience in production facilities, 

Chaz has 3 boys, Paxten, Zach and Cain who are his life.  He enjoys weekends when he can take his boys fishing or out riding dirt bikes together.  Chaz also is a snowmobile racer, who races vintage snowmobiles in competition. 

Chaz has a true love for machining and loves to learn new and interesting things each day.  Chaz says his goal is to be the very best at what he does, and make our PSI MetalWorks department the place everyone goes to for their machining needs.  Chaz is a key link in our MetalWorks department and has already made a great impact on our production and key processes.  We know he’s going to continue to apply his exuberance and CNC machining talents in the Metalworks department, to assure our production part of the machine shop is nothing but top notch. 

 

Kyle Solheim

Production Specialist

Kyle is a Billings, Montana native who has deep roots in Montana.  A very talented individual who is a proven wiz with a welder and plasma table, we are very excited to have Kyle in our PSI family.  Kyle runs our MetalWorks machining & Manufacturing department. 

Kyle has been with PSI since April of 2019 and has been the key to starting up our full-service machine shop.  Kyle has made his mark in this industry with his metalworking talents and through fabrication of pieces for industrial, structural and even residential applications.  Kyle has already applied his 10+ years of experience in the steel industry to get MetalWorks started and running smoothly.  

Kyle is married to his love Alicia and they enjoy spending time with family and friends.  Being native to Montana, Kyle loves to do what Montana boys do which is hunting, boating, snowmobiling and golf.  Kyle and Alicia also love to take their Harley for weekend rides with family and friends.

Kyle is passionate about metalworking and it shows every day.  Showing maturity and leadership beyond his years, Kyle is quickly becoming a key member of our Leadership Team.  PSI is extremely happy to have him aboard as he steers our Manufacturing department to bigger and better things.  Give Kyle a call for whatever your metalworking needs are.  You will be glad you did.
