Howdy.Thank you for coming to our website. It is my hope that when you put your mouse down and decide to take action for your facility needs, that we’ve given you enough information for you to make PSI your first call for your specialty contracting needs.
I formed PSI to provide a better, more polished product for our customers in the power and petrochemical industries. To provide “old school” service that was based upon a handshake, and where a service company does just that, provide service. Not only provide service, but provide only the best service, with spot-on pricing, punctuality, professionalism and utilizes a “service with a smile” approach. The company, much like myself has modest roots, remains humble in its demeanor and yet is very driven to succeed and be the very best at what we do.
Please allow me to tell you a little bit about myself and how PSI came to be.
I was born in 1966 in a very small town of Britton, South Dakota. This means I’m 50-ish now, but I’ve never felt younger. That’s what people over 50 tell themselves now days! At least I think they do.Anyway, not long after I was born, my family moved to Billings, MT.I am the youngest of 4 kids and was definitely a generation X kid.Weird times, too.The first half of my life we had almost zero technology, and the second half so far is absolutely nothing but “tech”! Who else can say they’ve experienced 8 track tapes AND digital music in their lifetime? I know, right?
I’ve always been fascinated by people and am definitely a people pleaser by nature.I’m also the type of person that craves knowledge, loves to build things and gets the most satisfaction from a job well done and also from helping others.I guess you could say I was destined to be an entrepreneur.
The first time I was on a leak sealing job back in 1990 and we stopped that steam leak, I knew this was for me.I was working for another company then, and spend 13 years with them, traveling across the US and even internationally.I’m actually thankful for my time there, for I was able to learn from some of the best talent in the industry at that time.I learned and mastered almost every single specialty service line, honing my skills and educating myself on our client facilities, how
they run and what are their most important needs.Once I left my employer to form PSI, I put every bit of my time and attention into learning everything I could about this industry, as well as every single specialty service procedure needed to be successful at it, as well as pass along that knowledge to our own personnel.
I met my wife Mona in high school at the ripe age of 16.We have been married over 33 years now and she is my rock and the engine that keeps me moving.Mona is also our CFO, party planner, decorating extraordinaire for all the offices, fashion designer for any/all swag, etiquette enforcer and some would even say the voice behind the voice. She basically keeps everyone “on point” with our policies, protocols, expenditures and makes sure we are all trying to do our part in saving the earth by recycling.Mona is also the rock that tipped the decision scales in 2003 and pushed me to put our company on the map.Without her assurance then and continued drive now, PSI wouldn’t be the company it is today. You could say she puts the “power” in our Power Team.
Mona and I were married in 1986, one year removed from high school, so yeah, we were just two crazy kids in love, who just had to get married!Well, I basically stalked her until she caved and said yes, but it’s only semantics at this point, right? Not long after we married, we purchased 3 acres in Worden, MT and put a 20 x 50 modular on it.We bought the house for $800, too. It’s still on the property, somewhere in the middle of the endless additions and upgrades we’ve added to the place over the past 30+ years. And after purchasing another 3 acres next door, we’ve been able to build the first PSI shop, and this is still the very property where the PSI headquarters now resides. With over 8,000 sq ft of shop and office space and 10,000+sq feet of lot space, we’ve built a facility that is ready to take on anything that comes our way. Can’t believe this was just a giant field of weeds when we bought it, but it was.Shows exactly what can come from TIME + EFFORT.
We have two wonderful kids who are adults now.Their names are Bo and Morgan.Bo has worked for us over 9 years now and still keeps going.Morgan is studying to become a licensed massage therapist.I’m happy to say they are both happy, healthy adults.
